Buyer Resources/Closing Details
Your Signing Appointment
You’re almost there!
Here’s what to expect when you sign your closing documents, and what happens next.
From Signing to Keys
Before You Sign
Wire Fraud Warning
Call your escrow officer at a verified number to confirm wiring instructions. Escrow will never change them by email.
After You Sign
Escrow returns the signed documents to your lender for a final review, usually within a day or so. Once the lender funds the loan, escrow records the deed with the County Recorder and “closes escrow.” When recording is confirmed, I’ll let you know, and I’ll hand you the keys!
- Keep your recorded deed. The original is mailed to you after recording; you can also view it online at the County Recorder.
- Ignore “deed copy” offers. Mailers charging a fee for a copy of your deed are not official.
- Check your tax classification. Confirm the County Assessor lists the home as your primary residence, if it is.
