Property Management/Rental Property Registration
For Owners
Register your rental with the Maricopa County Assessor.
Arizona law (A.R.S. § 33-1902) requires owners of residential rental property to register it with the county assessor, and to update the information within 10 days of any change. Here’s how to do it online in a few minutes, or by mail.
Why It Matters
What You’ll Need
- Assessor parcel number (APN) or the property address
- The year the home was built
- Owner name, phone number, email and mailing address
- For a corporation, LLC, partnership, trust or REIT: the name, address and phone of an officer, managing member, general partner or trustee
- For owners living outside Arizona: an Arizona statutory agent (name, address and phone)

Special Situations
Good to Know
Registering doesn’t change who manages your home, but it can change how the property is classified for tax purposes. The Assessor’s form notes that a registration may result in a tax increase.
